인천시 중구 북성동과 송월동이 통합돼 행정동 명칭이 개항동으로 바뀐다. 구는 지난 2월 22일부터 3월 12일까지 19일간 북성동과 송월동 통합 행정동 명칭 선정을 위해 공모를 실시해 이 가운데 1차 심사와 주민 선호도조사, 의회 의견 등을 종합적으로 고려하여, 개항동으로 최종 명칭으로 선정했다.
개항동 명칭은 오는 6월 중구의회 의결을 거쳐 최종 확정되며 7월 1일 통합동 개청일부터 적용한다. (관리자)
