부평구는 16일 캠프마켓 B구역 야구장 부지 일원에서 배롱나무와 산철쭉 등 꽃이 피는 나무 1천600주를 식재했다. 이번 식재는 캠프마켓 개방 이후 처음 심는 나무들로, 구는 지난 달 30일 철쭉 등 2천400주를 심었으며 지난 15일과 16일 이틀에 걸쳐 1천600주를 추가로 식재해 총 4천 주를 심었다.
아울러 구는 자체 제작한 나비모양의 조형의자 3개를 활용한 포토존을 설치해 나무들과 함께 캠프마켓을 찾는 주민들에게 휴식공간과 볼거리를 제공할 계획이다.
구 관계자는 “81년 만에 주민의 품으로 돌아온 캠프마켓이 다양한 꽃나무 식재로 새 옷을 입게 됐다”며 “캠프마켓을 방문하는 주민들이 쾌적하고 안전하게 이용 할 수 있도록 최선을 다할 것”이라고 말했다. (출처; 부평구청)
